2. REGEDIT: HKEY_USERS/S-1-5-18/SOFTWARE/
3. Ensure that APPDATA value Data reads "%USERPROFILE%\AppData\Roaming
4. Right click the .EXE file, go to PROPERTIES - Compatibility Tab - Change settings for all users
5. Run in compatibility mode for Windows XP (Service Pack 3) and click "Run as Administrator".
6. Close properties, restart the computer and execute the application.
Microsoft Office Starter Edition 2010 should now run without errors on Windows 8 systems.
